Living Planet analysis shows looming ecological credit crunch
The world is heading for an ecological credit crunch as human demands on the world's natural capital reach nearly a third more than earth can sustain. That is the stark warning contained in the latest edition of WWF’s Living Planet Report, the leading statement of the planet’s health. HCVF Toolkit already available for Vietnam
The concept of High Conservation Value Forest (HCVF) was initially developed by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). One of the ten criterion for forest certification, HCVF refers to forests that need to be appropriately managed in order to maintain or enhance the identified High Conservation Values. Such values depend on the individual characteristics of the particular area according to the social, environmental and economic impacts it has. Viet Nam's rich biodiversity offers many opportunities for HCVF identification nationwide. » Read more

Fighting Wildlife Smuggling and Illegal Logging in Vietnam

All of South East Asia, including Vietnam, is facing an increase in illegal wildlife trade and overexploitation of timber resources from illegal logging. However, government authorities are strengthening efforts to stop these crimes and protect Vietnam and neighboring countries’ biodiversity.

WWF partners Coca-Cola for Freshwater ecosystem
The Plain of Reeds Wetland Restoration Project was launched on 18 April under the global partnership for freshwater conservation, a collaboration between the Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) and WWF. The Project seeks to improve the ecological conditions of the Plain of Reeds wetlands, located in the Mekong River basin, through habitat restoration, collaborative management and livelihoods interventions.

WWF and MOET to Improve Biodiversity Education in Vietnamese Schools
With funding from WWF Switzerland, WWF’s Vietnam programme is collaborating with the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) to implement the project “Biodiversity education in lower secondary schools of Vietnam” in order to provide in-service and pre-service teachers with a suitable methodology for teaching lower secondary students the exciting subject of biodiversity conservation.
